Functional units of a Computer

Computer is a device that depends upon and operates the data or information. It can accept the input data, stores the data, process on it and output desired results.

There are three main functional units of a computer.

1^st. Input Unit/Input Device

The device by which we provide information or instructions to the computer are called input devices. Input devices are keyboard, mouse etc.

2^nd. Central Processing Unit

Central processing unit is simply called CPU. It is that unit which processes the input data.

3^rd. Output Unit/ Output Device

The device which is used to get output data from computer is called output device. The examples are monitor, loud speaker etc.

The meaningful information is called data OR the processed form of information stored in computer is called data. This information may be in the form of text, documents, audios, video clips, software program etc.

The three types of data are discussed below.

2^nd. Data Process: -

The action of processing data by computer is called data process OR the process on input data is called data process.

3^rd. Output Data: -

Hardware & Software

Basically computer is made of two things which are hardware and software.

Hardware

All the physical components/parts of computer are called hardware OR those parts of computer which can be touch are said hardware, such as monitor, keyboard, mouse, CPU etc.

Software

The collection of programs is called software OR those parts of computer which we cannot touch are called software OR software is referred to as the collection of computer instructions that tell the computer how to work.

The software is classified into two parts.

1^st. system software/operating system

The system software is that type of software that is designed to run the computer hardware and application software. System software includes windows, disk operating system (DOS) etc.

2^nd. Application software

An application software is a program or collection of programs that is designed to facilitate the user. The examples of application software are MS word, MS excel, calculator, web browsers etc.

Definition of Web designing

Alternatively, VLC has modules for codecs that are not based on FFmpeg's libraries. VLC is one of the free software DVD players that ignores DVD region coding on RPC-1 firmware drives, making it a region-free player. However, it does not do the same on RPC-2 firmware drives, as in these cases the region coding is enforced by the drive itself, however, it can still brute-force the CSS encryption to play a foreign-region DVD on an RPC-2 drive. VLC media player has some filters that can distort, rotate, split, deinterlace, and mirror videos as well as create display walls or add a logo overlay. It can also output video as ASCII art.

WinRAR 5 (32 Bit and 64 Bit) is a powerful archive manager. It can backup your data and reduce the size of email attachments, decompress RAR, ZIP and other files downloaded from Internet and create new archives in RAR and Zip files format. Changes in RAR compression RAR general compression algorithm is optimized for better utilization of several processor cores. While some speed gain is possible even in single processor mode, best results are achieved in multi-core environment. Speed gain depends on data type and average file size. Several cores are utilized more efficiently when compressing large files.

What is New in WinRAR 5.40 Beta 1 Version

1. “Drag and drop context menu” options in “Settings/Integration/ Context menu items” dialog allow to disable WinRAR archiving and extraction commands in context menu displayed after dragging and dropping files with right mouse button.

2. If winrar.ini file is present in the same folder as WinRAR installer, winrar.ini will be copied to WinRAR program folder after completing installation.

3. While previous versions could produce RAR5 volumes of slightly smaller than requested size sometimes, such situation is less likely now. In most cases volume size equals to specified by user.

4. Bugs fixed:

a) WinRAR 5.31 issued unnecessary user account control (UAC) prompt, when running an executable from archive stored in UAC protected folder. Since nothing is extracted to folder containing an archive in such case, UAC prompt is not needed;

b) WinRAR could overwrite files with read-only attribute only when unpacking RAR and ZIP archive formats. Now it is also implemented for other archive formats supported by WinRAR;

c) “Elapsed time” and “Time left” were displayed incorrectly when applying “Convert” command to multiple archives and enabling “Add recovery record” option.

WINRAR 32 Bit had to increase memory requirements to achieve higher compression speed. General RARcompression algorithm allocates about 120 MB comparing to 40 MB in WINRAR 4.
WINRAR 64 Bit text compression algorithm cannot utilize several CPU cores efficiently, so its performance in multiprocessor environment is much lower than for general algorithm. Also its decompression speed is much lower than in general algorithm regardless of CPU number. So we decided to disable the text algorithm by default. If you need maximum possible compression ratio for plain text data regardless of speed, you can enable the text compression in “Advanced compression parameter” dialog. Press “Compression” button on “Advanced” page of archiving dialog to access it. You can also change this option permanently in default compression profile; In the command line mode the text compression can be enabled with much switch.

“Fastest” (-m1) compression mode also supports several processor cores now. In 4.11 it could use only a single processor core. WINRAR x64 general decompression algorithm speed is slightly improved,though not same extent as RAR compression. RAR decompression is not able to use several processor cores, so its performance does not depend on a number of cores. Changes in ZIP compression: now ZIP compressionsupports several processor cores resulting in noticeably higher performance in multi-core environment. Single CPU ZIP compression is also faster than in 4.11; Memory use for ZIP compression is increased to about 15 MB.
